Waalykum assalam,

According to Grand Ayatollah Sayyid al-Sistani (may the Almighty prolong his life):

If the non-Muslim does not display hostility towards Islam and Muslims with his actions or speech, then there is no issue in doing that which friendliness and love require i.e. righteousness and kindness to him, as the Almighty has said: (Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just. (60:8))

According to Grand Ayatollah Sayyid al-Khamenei (may the Almighty prolong his life):

There is no objection in doing so in and of itself.

May the Almighty grant you tawfeeq in all of your affairs
