Salam

I was previously performing my prayers without reciting out loud for Fajr, Maghrib and Isha prayers. Yesterday, however, I came to know that it is mandatory to recite out loud [Surah al-Fatiha and the following Surah]. What is the ruling with regards to my previous prayers?

Waalykum assalam,

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may Allah protect him):

If one did not recite [the Surahs] out loud out of ignorance, it doesn't invalidate their previous prayers.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may Allah protect him):

If one did not recite [the Surahs] out loud out of ignorance of the fact that reciting out loud is mandatory or because they didn't know what qualifies as reciting out loud, it doesn't invalidate their previous prayers. Thus, repeating or making up their  prayers is not required.
