Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may Allah protect him):

It is valid, as it is recommended to merge when the letter following the silent noon or tanween is one of the letters in 'Yarmaloon'. For example, in (لم يكن له) the noon is merged with the lam, and in (صلِّ على محمّدٍ وآله) the tanween is merged with the waw. It is permissible to omit the merging in such cases whether stopping or not.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may Allah protect him):

It is valid, and it is recommended to observe the merging in the letters of 'Yarmaloon'.

May you be successful in all good.
