Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may God protect him):

It is permissible, and anyone familiar with the rulings of His Eminence knows that he considers the majority of Sunnis to be Muslims whose blood is sacred and whose wealth is respected, and they are entitled to all the rulings applicable to Muslims:

Among these rulings is the obligation to pray over the funeral of a Muslim, even if they differ in sect – see Minhaj al-Salihin, Vol. 1, p. 106.

Also, the validity of a believer's marriage to someone from a differing sect – see Minhaj al-Salihin, Vol. 3, p. 70.

And that Muslims inherit from each other, even if they differ in sects, principles, and beliefs – see Minhaj al-Salihin, Vol. 3, p. 323.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may God protect him):

It is permissible and there is no objection to it; rather, if it is for the sake of maintaining Islamic unity, it is commendable.
