Peace be upon you. Some of us may suffer from bloating, which leads to confusion regarding the validity of their prayer and whether their ablution is correct or not, or when exactly they should renew their ablution. [AR_ID:744]

Peace be upon you.

Response from Sayyid Sistani and Sayyid Khamenei:

1) In the case of doubt regarding the release of gas, it is assumed that it has not been released, and thus the individual remains in a state of ablution. It is important to note that what comes out from a woman's front is not considered, even if it is habitual, nor is it considered if it is not from the stomach and intestines, such as when something enters from outside and then exits.

2) It is permissible to hold back gas during prayer, but it is disliked to do so if the urge arises before the prayer. However, if the urge arises after the prayer, there is no dislike.
