Peace be upon you, and God's mercy and blessings.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may God protect him):

It is permissible to shake hands between a man and a woman through clothing or gloves, provided there is no fear of falling into what is forbidden. There is no difference between the living and the dead in this regard.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may God protect him):

Touching the hand of a non-mahram with a barrier is not inherently problematic, provided it does not lead to arousal or result in harm. There is no difference between the living and the dead in this regard.

The prohibition against arousal is based on obligatory caution in the absence of harm or fear of falling into what is forbidden; otherwise, it is not permissible according to fatwa.

May you be successful in all good.
