Is it permissible to rent a shop to someone who intends to sell alcohol in it? Does the ruling change if they sell food in larger quantities than alcohol in the store?

Peace be upon you.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei and Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may Allah protect them):

It is prohibited to rent premises for the purpose of selling or storing alcohol, or for engaging in other prohibited activities. This applies if there is an agreement between the parties, either by explicitly stating the intention to engage in the prohibited activity in the contract or by mutual understanding, such as if the tenant tells the landlord, for example: 'Rent me the shop so I can sell alcohol,' and the landlord agrees. There is no difference whether the tenant sells only alcohol or both alcohol and other items.

May you be successful in all good.
