Peace be upon you.

Ayatollah Khamenei (may Allah protect him):

There is no difference between the ritual bath after menstruation and the bath after sexual impurity in terms of procedure. The steps are as follows: First, intend to perform the bath. It is not necessary for the entire body to be pure before the bath; it suffices to purify the impure part before washing it. Then, wash the head and neck first, followed by the entire right side of the body, and then the entire left side of the body.

Ayatollah Sistani (may Allah protect him):

There is no difference between the ritual bath after menstruation and the bath after sexual impurity in terms of procedure. It is sufficient to wash the entire head and neck first, then the rest of the body with the intention of purification from sexual impurity (the intention can be a heartfelt one and does not require verbalization). There is no need for a specific order between the two parts; they can be washed together or in any other manner, although it is recommended to wash the entire right side first, followed by the entire left side.

If using a shower, it is necessary to step out from under the water before starting to wash the head and neck, as well as before washing the body, as a precaution.
