The narration mentioned is found in the book 'Tuhaf al-Uqul' by Ibn Shubha al-Harrani.
This book has been a subject of discussion among scholars.
It contains pearls and gems of the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and has been relied upon by several scholars, including al-Muhaddith al-Hurr al-Amili in 'Wasail al-Shi'a' (30:156, the fourth benefit of the conclusion), who considered 'Tuhaf al-Uqul' among the credible books. Other narrators have praised the author of the book and commended it highly. In 'Rawdat al-Jannat', it is stated that he is a distinguished, knowledgeable, and reputable scholar, with 'Tuhaf al-Uqul' being relied upon by the companions.
Al-Muhaddith al-Qummi in 'Al-Fawaid al-Ridawiyya' (109) described him as a distinguished, knowledgeable, and pious scholar. He also quoted from the author of 'Al-Takmila' about al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn al-Sadiq al-Bahrani, stating that he was among the early companions, to the extent that our teacher al-Mufid quoted from him. It is a book that time has not allowed to be matched.
On the other hand, some scholars did not rely on the narrations of this book due to their weakness in transmission, as stated by the religious authority Sayyid al-Khoei (may his soul rest in peace) at the beginning of his discussion on 'Forbidden Transactions', where he mentioned a narration from 'Tuhaf al-Uqul'.
Sayyid al-Khoei said: 'However, he did not mention it with a chain of transmission, but rather transmitted it from al-Sadiq (peace be upon him)...'
After presenting these two opinions, we can say that as long as the use of narrations is in the context of admonition and similar matters, there is no harm in conveying them as long as they do not contradict the Book of our Lord and the Sunnah of our Prophet.
We can refer here to the words of Sayyid Mohsen al-Amin (may his soul rest in peace) in his book 'Al-Ayan' when he was discussing 'Nahj al-Balagha'.
He said: 'Nahj al-Balagha is not a reference for legal rulings, so we should not search for its chains of transmission to connect it to Ali (peace be upon him); rather, it is a selection of his words in admonitions, advice, and various topics that orators rely on for their purposes.'
And the words here are in praise and peace upon the best of creation, our Prophet Muhammad and his noble family.
