Peace be upon you. In the month of Ramadan, I slept shortly before the dawn call to prayer and woke up with a bottle of water next to me. I drank from it, then looked at the clock and realized that dawn had already arrived. Do I need to make up that day? I follow the teachings of Sayyid Sistani.

And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei and Ayatollah Sistani (may Allah protect them):

If a person commits any of the acts that invalidate the fast without checking for the dawn, and it becomes clear that dawn has broken at the time of breaking the fast, then their fast is invalidated. There is no difference in this ruling among all types of fasting, and there is no expiation required in this case.

May you be successful in all good.
