Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may God protect him):
There is no difference between artificial hair, eyebrows that cannot be removed, artificial nails, and eyelash extensions in terms of ruling; it is not valid to perform ablution or ghusl (full ritual washing) while wearing them. If they can be removed, then the ablution or ghusl is invalidated, and likewise, the prayer is also invalidated. However, if they cannot be removed until the end of the prayer time or if their removal causes undue hardship that is typically intolerable, the person must perform tayammum (dry ablution) in addition to ablution or ghusl by wiping over them. It is also obligatory, as a precaution, to make up those prayers after removing them.
In any case, since these eyelashes are considered adornment, they must be covered in front of non-mahram (those whom one can marry).

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may God protect him):
Yes, this affects the ghusl and ablution, and it is not permissible, as a precaution, unless there is a legal excuse such as avoiding severe hardship. If it is considered adornment, it must be covered as a precaution.
