Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may Allah protect him):
Yes, it is considered a sinful journey. The concept of a sinful journey includes traveling that itself is sinful, such as a wife traveling without her husband's permission for reasons other than fulfilling an obligation, or if the travel leads to committing a forbidden act. Since playing football in front of non-mahram individuals is forbidden, traveling for this purpose is a precursor to committing a sin.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may Allah protect him):
Since the office of His Eminence has not issued a ruling on the prohibition or permissibility of playing football in front of non-mahram individuals (we have not received a response from the office), it remains that being improperly dressed in front of non-mahram individuals is certainly forbidden. Therefore, if the travel entails neglecting an obligation, and if the intention of the travel is to neglect the obligation, such as neglecting to pay a debt, it is entirely sinful. However, if the intention is not to neglect the obligation, even if neglect occurs inevitably as in the mentioned example, the travel is not sinful, and one may shorten the prayer. Nevertheless, if one commits sins throughout the journey (except for a few hours), such that it can be considered a journey in disobedience to Allah, in this case, it is recommended to combine between shortening and completing the prayer.
