Peace be upon you.

Ayatollah Khamenei (may Allah protect him):

If at the time of intending to stay, one intends to leave their place for less than four farsakhs, and if the intended departures do not contradict the common understanding of staying in one place for ten days—such as if one intends to leave two or three times during this period, provided that each time does not exceed half a day at most, or if one intends to leave every day for about an hour and a half (totaling fifteen hours), or four or five times for a total of fifteen hours—this does not invalidate the intention of residence, and one can pray completely. However, if one intends to leave for a total of fifteen hours all at once, this is a matter of concern, and it is recommended to pray both the short and complete prayers as a precaution.

Ayatollah Sistani (may Allah protect him):

It is not a condition for the intention of residence that one does not intend to leave their place of residence. It is permissible to intend to leave for purposes such as attending a funeral, visiting the graves of believers, or for leisure, as long as the distance does not reach the limit and the duration of the departure does not contradict the common understanding of residence in the country. If one intends to leave for the entire day or nearly the entire day, there is no doubt that the intention of residence is not realized, and one must shorten their prayers. Similarly, if one intends to leave for the entire night. However, if one intends to leave for half a day and return even an hour after nightfall, this does not contradict the intention of residence unless it occurs frequently enough to be considered residence in more than one place.
