What is the ruling for someone who wears a brace on their hands due to an ankle sprain and cannot remove it as per the doctor's request? Should they perform ablution like a person with a bandage?

Peace be upon you.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may Allah protect him):

He must combine the ablution of a bandage with tayammum if the brace is in the areas where tayammum is performed; otherwise, he should suffice with tayammum.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may Allah protect him):

In the case presented, if he cannot remove the bandage or reach the skin with water, he should perform ablution with the bandage. If the bandage covers some healthy parts, the usual amount that is required to tighten most bandages will be included in the ruling, and he should wipe over it. If it is more than that amount: if he can remove it, he should do so, wash the healthy part, then put it back and wipe over it. If that is not possible, he should wipe over it and it is recommended to also include tayammum.

May you be successful in all good.
