Peace be upon you.

Ayatollah Khamenei (may Allah protect him):

In the matter of purity and impurity, the default ruling is purity according to sacred law. As long as there is no certainty of impurity or it has not been established through a credible legal means, items are considered pure for us even if we suspect their impurity. There is no need to investigate or inquire.

Ayatollah Sistani (may Allah protect him):

Anything that one doubts its impurity, while knowing it was pure previously, is considered pure. This also applies if one does not know its previous state (whether it was impure before the doubt or pure). There is no need to investigate what one doubts regarding its purity or impurity, even if the investigation does not require much effort. However, if one doubts its purity after knowing it was previously impure, it is ruled as impure.
