Ayatollah Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace):
For the prayer to be completed during work-related travel, the travel itself must be the work. It is not sufficient for the work to simply take place during travel. For example, a driver whose job is to drive can complete their prayer and fast while traveling. However, someone who resides in their home and travels to another city for work, such as a teacher or doctor, must shorten their prayer and cannot fast.

Ayatollah Khamenei (may Allah protect him):
One of the conditions for shortening the prayer during travel is that the travel should not be for work. If the travel is for work, whether the job consists of traveling, like a driver or pilot, or if the travel is a prerequisite for the job, like a doctor or teacher traveling for work, they can pray completely and their fasting is valid during that travel, provided they meet the conditions for work-related travel.

Ayatollah Sistani (may Allah protect him):
If someone travels frequently, they must fast and complete their prayers during all their travels. Frequent travel is defined as someone who travels outside for work or other purposes at least ten times a month, or travels for at least ten days in a month, even if it involves two or three trips, with the intention to continue this pattern for six months in one year or three months over two years. In such cases, they must complete their prayers and fast, but during the first two weeks of their travels, it is recommended to combine shortening and completing the prayer, as well as fasting and making up missed fasts. If someone travels four times a month or travels for seven days or less, they must shorten their prayers. However, if they travel eight times a month or travel for eight or nine days, it is strongly recommended to combine shortening and completing the prayer.
