Peace be upon you.
The essence of a prayer contradicting natural and existential laws is when the prayer opposes the goals of creation, such as asking for eternal life in this world or wishing to return to childhood. Such prayers do not represent genuine applications of supplication.
However, praying for sustenance and expansion for oneself and one's family is perfectly acceptable. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Shall I not guide you to a weapon that will save you from your enemies and increase your provisions? They said, 'Yes.' He said, 'You should pray to your Lord, both night and day, for the weapon of the believer is prayer."
It has also been narrated from Saif al-Tammar that he heard Abu Abdullah (peace be upon him) say: "You should engage in prayer, for there is nothing that brings you closer to God like it. Do not neglect even the smallest of matters in your supplications, for the one who takes care of small matters is also the one who takes care of great matters."
Additionally, Zayd al-Shahham reported that Abu Ja'far (peace be upon him) said: "Pray for sustenance while you are in prostration, saying: 'O Best of those who are asked, and O Best of those who give, grant me and my family from Your bounty, for You are the Possessor of great bounty.'"
It is also narrated from Muawiya ibn Ammar that he asked Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) to teach him a prayer for sustenance, and he taught him a prayer that he found to be very effective for attracting sustenance. He said: "Say: 'O Allah, grant me from Your vast, lawful, and pure bounty, a wide, lawful, and pure provision that suffices me for this world and the Hereafter, abundant and wholesome, without toil or favor from any of Your creation, except as a result of Your vast bounty, for You said, 'Ask Allah for His bounty'; so from Your bounty I ask, and from Your giving I ask, and from Your abundant hand I ask.'"

May you be successful in all good things.
