Peace be upon you.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may Allah protect him):

1- Ruling for a pregnant woman close to her delivery:

If she fears harm from fasting on the fetus, she should break her fast and must make up the missed days and provide a compensation of feeding one poor person three-quarters of a kilogram of food such as flour or bread for each day missed.

If she fears harm to herself or to both herself and her fetus, she should break her fast, must make up the missed days, and it is obligatory to provide a compensation of feeding one poor person three-quarters of a kilogram of food such as flour or bread for each day missed.

2- Ruling for a pregnant woman not close to her delivery:

If she fears harm to herself or to her fetus, she should break her fast, must make up the missed days, and it is obligatory to feed one poor person three-quarters of a kilogram of food such as flour or bread for each day.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may Allah protect him):

1- Ruling for a pregnant woman close to delivery:

A pregnant woman close to delivery (in the eighth or ninth month) who fears harm to herself or her fetus is allowed to break her fast — and it may even be obligatory if fasting would cause prohibited harm to either of them — and she must make up the missed days and also provide compensation. For compensation, it suffices to give the poor 750 grams of wheat or its flour, but any food, including bread or pasta, is also acceptable.

2- Ruling for a pregnant woman not close to delivery:

For a pregnant woman not close to delivery (from the first month to the end of the seventh month), if fasting harms her or her fetus or causes her to face unbearable hardship, she is allowed to break her fast, must make up the missed days, and is not required to provide compensation.
