Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sistani (may Allah protect him):
A woman with a regular menstrual cycle - whether it is numerical or not - will consider herself to be in her menstrual period as soon as she sees blood during her cycle, even if it is light yellow. However, if it becomes clear that it is not menstruation - for example, if it stops before three days - she must make up the prayers and fasting.
Therefore, if the yellow discharge is blood, it is considered menstruation, and anything that comes out during the ten days is considered menstruation.
If you see blood again, and the interval between the two blood sightings is less than the minimum period of purity - which is ten days - then both are considered menstruation. If there is no interval and the total of both blood sightings and the purity in between exceeds ten days, and one of them falls within the regular cycle, then the one within the cycle is menstruation and the other is istihada.

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Khamenei (may Allah protect him):
If the discharge is blood and does not exceed ten days in total, it is considered menstruation. If you see blood a second time and the interval between the two blood sightings is less than ten days, the second blood is ruled as istihada in any case.
