Peace be upon you.

Ayatollah Khamenei (may Allah protect him):

Merely having the intention is not sufficient for a place to be considered a home; one must also engage in activities that typically signify settling in a place (such as preparing a house or starting a business). If these actions are taken, it can be considered their home even if they do not stay long. If they do not prepare for settling, they must stay for a period (like a month or two) for it to be considered their home, and they should pray shortened prayers during this time unless they intend to stay for ten days.

Ayatollah Sistani (may Allah protect him):

The mere intention to settle is not sufficient for the rulings of a home to apply; one must reside for a period (like a month) during which it is recognized as their home. It is recommended to combine shortened and complete prayers during this time unless they intend to stay for ten days.

May you be successful in all good.
